What changes between these sectors is rarely the cutting. It is the traceability, the inspection burden and the documentation that travels with the part.

Aerospace

Flight hardware carries the heaviest documentation load of anything we make. Material certification traceable to the heat, process certifications for anything that cannot be inspected out of the part afterwards, and first article inspection to AS9102 where the customer invokes it. Our AS9100D system exists for this work; what it adds over ISO 9001 is covered in what AS9100D adds to ISO 9001.

Defence

Programme work carries confidentiality obligations alongside the quality ones. Drawings, part identities and end-use are handled accordingly, and we will not publish customer detail without written agreement.

Marine

Corrosion behaviour and material selection drive more decisions here than tolerance does. Larger envelopes and long, slender profiles put the emphasis on fixturing and on distortion control during machining rather than on the final measurement.

Semiconductor

Micro-level features, fine surface finish requirements and cleanliness at handover. Parts in this sector are frequently where the video measuring machine earns its place, because the features are too small or too delicate for a touch probe.

Healthcare

Traceability and consistency across batches, with surface condition often specified as tightly as dimension. Assembly fixtures and instrument components make up much of this work.

Die and Mold

Contoured surfaces, deep pockets and long tool reach. Cycle time is dominated by surface finish requirements, and the trade between a finer stepover and a longer cycle is usually the conversation worth having before the job starts.

Precision Tooling

Fixtures, gauges and tooling for other people's production. These parts are measured against the role they play rather than against a general tolerance, so the datum scheme matters more than usual.

What we need to quote any of them

Model and drawing, material and condition, quantity, tolerance, and any documentation the part must carry — certification, FAI, or source inspection. Tell us the sector as well: it changes what travels with the part, not just how it is cut.
